Dr. Elliot Schlang, DDS
Principal & Chief Dental Officer: Since graduating from UCLA School of Dentistry in 1974, Dr. Schlang has strived to create greater access to dental care. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Counselors of the UCLA School of Dentistry, which also focuses on making oral healthcare accessible to the under-served. "I enjoy reaching out to schools and helping them implement a program which has such a positive impact on their student's health and readiness to learn.“

Shawna Barnes (ext. 1166)
Partner Relations Manager: Shawna began working with Big Smiles in 2006 after graduating with a degree in Biblical Studies & Missiology. When not leading her team, Shawna enjoys teaching kids at her church, hiking and mission trips. “I love that we are able to use our own talents to help children. Every day we get the chance to help a child that otherwise would not receive the care that they need. It is both humbling & gratifying at the same time.”
April Munoz (ext. 1118)
Partner Relations Coordinator: Since earning a BA in Early Childhood Education in 2008, April has been helping to coordinate the Big Smiles program. April likes to volunteer in various community service organizations such as Homeless Shelters/Child Crisis Centers and Habitat for Humanity. "There is no greater satisfaction than working diligently with the schools and their supportive Nurses/ Administration and knowing that at the end of the day you've made a difference in a child’s health and future. "

Partner Relations Coordinator: Amber enjoys spending time with freinds and family and is currently pursuing a degree in Business. "I enjoy working with schools to schedule Dental Clinic's at each site to make sure that the children get the dental care they need."

Partner Relations Coordinator: In her spare time Tracy likes to read, race and play with her kids. "I enjoy helping those most in need receive the care and attention they deserve in order to smile wide, and be confident in themselves“

Outreach Supervisor: Alison likes to spend time outdoors including hiking, biking and anything water-related. “It's very rewarding to know that what I do daily affects so many in such a positive way. I enjoy reaching out to schools and introducing our program. Then, once the program is implemented, hearing what a positive difference we've made in the llives of these children.”
Carleesa Duncan (ext. 1209)
Outreach Coordinator: Carleesa holds a BA in Media Arts/Boadcasting and Communication. Her hobbies include acting, singing, being part of Theater Productions and reading. “Our children are one of the greatest blessings one could ever have. I am honored to be part of a program that cares for them and helps alleviate a detrimental force in their lives. Some may never realize how much dental care can affect a childs life; when it is lacking childen may suffer, when provided children may grow in positive ways you might not ever imagine.”
